The largest poetry organization in the world, the International Society of Poets (ISP), will hold its annual poetry convention in Las Vegas, Nevada on Thursday, July 24, 2008 through Sunday, July 27, 2008. Poets will participate in an onsite poetry contest, attend educational lectures and seminars, take part in reading rooms and rap sessions, and enjoy world-class entertainment. The weekend concludes with an awards ceremony on Sunday. Members from over 60 different nations congregate at the convention to showcase their work and meet legendary American artists and poets.
The convention is designed to recognize, award, and promote the poetic talent of ISP members. It’s a place where poets from all over the world can discover resources and find inspiration for their writing. Snodgrass. Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, John Denver, the Smothers Brothers, and Tony Orlando are among the legendary entertainers that have attended and supported the event in the past.
