JS Design Concepts, Looking to Resurrect Design Community in Indiana

No longer will companies assume that Chicago is the place to go for Product Design in the Midwest. If James Spaulding, president of JS Design Concepts, LLC has things go as planned, Indianapolis will be competing for large scale projects on a national level, and winning.

Indianapolis, IN, July 18, 2008 --(PR.com)-- No newcomer to design, Mr. Spaulding has been an integral part of planning and organizing the design community in Indianapolis since 2001. Landing such clients as Eli Lilly, Allison Transmission, and Cummins, he is well aware of what it takes to solidify a spot in the top rankings. “When the Thomson design staff left, Product Design sources here in Indianapolis went independent.” Mr. Spaulding states. “Combining the talents and strengths of these firms, instead of viewing each other as competition, will allow us to compete for large scale projects and still provide competitive bids.”

Taking the first step in this initiative, Mr. Spaulding spearheaded the re-emergence of the Indiana Chapter of IDSA (Industrial Designer’s Society of America), and is the President as well. This allows him to interact and meet with other design professionals, to establish and enhance the overall design quality of Indiana Firms and Students.

Not only does JS Design Concepts offer Product Design and Development, but their staff has expanded to include professionals with experience in Corporate Branding and Interface Design. With an established Indiana based design network, JS Design Concepts has brought home several local engineering, manufacturing and production companies that felt Chicago was the closest location for quality design work.

James A. Spaulding is a product of the Purdue University Design department. He is called upon frequently for his abilities in product design ranging from consumer electronics to transportation. He is the president of the local chapter of IDSA, an organization dedicated to promote the benefits, awareness and value of design in business and society.
