New York, NY, July 20, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Knowledge Congress, the leading producer of regulatory focused teleconferences has announced today that Brian Moore, Senior Tax Manager of Grant Thornton LLP will speak at the Knowledge Congress’ upcoming teleconference entitled: “FAS 109: FIN 48 – Accounting for Uncertain Tax Positions – For Fund Managers”. This two-hour event is scheduled for September 3, 2008, Wednesday, starting from 1:00 PM EDT. (For further details of the event and an updated list of panelists, please visit: http://www.knowledgecongress.org/event_2008_fas109fin48.html)

Due to difficulties in meeting the compliance deadline, the FASB has postponed the operation of FIN 48 for private entities and hedge funds. Conflicts with the implementation, as well as the imposition of withholding taxes are just two of the issues the aforementioned entities are facing these days. That’s all about to change. This teleconference and webinar will aim to provide private entities and hedge funds insights on how to systematically approach FIN 48 in their organizations.

The Knowledge Congress has assembled a panel of distinguished experts to discuss what these approaches are and how to avoid future conflict with the government.
