Nunnelly Joins NISS & SAMSI as New Communications Director

Jamie Nunnelly is the new communications director for the National Institute of Statistical Sciences (NISS) and the Statistical and Applied Mathematics Sciences Institute (SAMSI), effective July 14.

Research Triangle Park, NC, July 23, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Dr. Alan Karr, director of the National Institute of Statistical Sciences (NISS), announced that Jamie Nunnelly joined NISS as its new communications director. In this newly created position, Nunnelly will provide communications counsel and services to both NISS and the Statistical and Applied Mathematical Sciences Institute (SAMSI) in Research Triangle Park.

Nunnelly was president of Wilder Ridge Communications, a division of Nunnelly Enterprises, Inc. She also published The Park Guide magazine from 2005-2006. She served as communications director for the Research Triangle Foundation of NC, owners and developers of the Research Triangle Park, from 1996-2005. Prior to the Foundation, she was the public relations director for the Research Triangle Regional Partnership from 1995-1996. She has also held communications positions at Advantis, Tropicana Products, Incorporated and General Motors.

Nunnelly earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in interpersonal and public communications from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio and her Master of Arts degree in mass communications from the University of South Florida in Tampa.

She is currently serving as the chair of the Chatham County Economic Development Corporation, and is on the Goodmon Awards committee for Leadership Triangle. She is also a member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).

Nunnelly and her husband, Scott, reside in Chatham County, North Carolina.
