Sonitrol Pacific Participates in Relay for Life, Yields Success

Portland, OR, July 23, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Sonitrol Pacific served as a sponsor for the American Cancer Society’s Portland Relay for Life July 19 and 20 and their team, comprised of employees and friends of Sonitrol Pacific, won awards for Most Funds Raised by a Team, Most Funds Raised by an Individual and Most Spirited Team.

The 24-hour relay raises money for programs that support those fighting cancer, honors cancer survivors and pays tribute to the lives lost to the disease. The Sonitrol Pacific team raised more than $5,400 in donations to the American Cancer Society.

Held at Portland’s Lincoln High School this year, the event featured games, karaoke, music, bands, contests, a silent auction, movies, theme laps, yoga, and lots of food and fun. The relay opened July 19 at 10:00 a.m. with a Survivors’ lap for cancer survivors, then the track was opened to the teams. After their lap, survivors were treated to a luncheon catered by Baja Fresh.

In addition to Sonitrol Pacific, teams from U.S. Bank, LP Building Products, Portland Jaycees, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Linfield College and Zion Lutheran Church joined the relay.

Sonitrol Pacific kept at least two team members walking throughout the 24 hours, supporting and cheering each other the whole time.
