STEM Education Goes Mobile and Exceeds 70,000 Registered Users

Warrenton, VA, July 26, 2008 --(PR.com)-- As of July 1, 2008, over 70,000 registered users have experienced mobile learning (mLearning) via interacting with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) educational modules during the Sports Bytes Competition. The goal of the Sports Bytes Competition is to facilitate on-demand STEM learning that is accessible via mobile phones. The Competition targets youth, between the elementary and high school grades, and seeks to spark their interest in the math and sciences; potentially influencing them to pursue higher education and careers in STEM disciplines.

With over 60,000 registered users, the Competition is nearing its goal to reach 100,000 users who answer one question in a Sports Bytes module. During July and August, 2008, in-game promotions bring the Sports Bytes Competition to baseball and soccer stadiums—Kansas City T-Bones, Frederick Keys, Aberdeen Ironbirds, Bowie Baysox, Wilmington Blue Rocks, Delmarva Shorebirds, and the D.C. United soccer team.
