Mountain Environmental has documented SGS ND-level results across its bagasse laminated tray range, with total fluorine residues verified below 10ppm. The laminated trays are engineered so the functional barrier stays below 5% of total product weight, supporting classification as fiber-based packaging under the EU SUPD.

The Test Record
The bagasse coated tray was tested by SGS against the EU chemical restriction set. Report QDHL260600954101CW, issued 2 July 2026, returned Pass or Non-Detected on every applicable parameter, with total fluorine below 10ppm. The scope covered a full 725-substance PFAS scan, the REACH entries for C9-C14 perfluorocarboxylic acids and PFHxA, the EU POPs entries for PFOA, PFOS and PFHxS, bisphenol A under REACH Annex XVII, and phthalates under REACH entries 51 and 52.
Low-Plastic Construction
The laminated trays are engineered so that the functional barrier constitutes less than 5% of total product weight. That structure keeps the tray classified as fiber-based packaging under frameworks such as the EU Single-Use Plastics Directive, which allows partners to address plastic tax exposure without moving to lower-performance materials. Non-laminated products in the range are made of 100% bagasse fiber.
