REALTORS® Support Ballot Question One to Address Housing and Blight in Kansas City

Kansas City, MO, September 03, 2026 --(PR.com)-- The Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS® (KCRAR) has announced its endorsement of Ballot Question One on the Kansas City, Missouri, August Primary Election ballot and highlighted its $25,000 investment in Together KC's voter education campaign.

Ballot Question One would authorize the City of Kansas City to issue up to $100 million in General Obligation Bonds to support affordable housing initiatives and blight remediation efforts throughout the city.

"Kansas City cannot continue to grow and prosper if working families, teachers, healthcare workers, first responders and young professionals are unable to find housing they can afford," said James Toy, Senior Vice President of Government Affairs for the Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS®. "Ballot Question One represents one of the most significant opportunities our city has had in years to invest in housing affordability, address long-standing blight and strengthen neighborhoods across Kansas City. That's why KCRAR is encouraging voters to vote yes on Question One."

As the region's leading voice for homeownership and housing opportunity, KCRAR believes the measure will provide critical resources to expand housing options, revitalize neighborhoods and remove barriers to economic growth.

To demonstrate its commitment to addressing housing challenges, KCRAR contributed $25,000 to Together KC's voter education effort, helping inform voters about all five ballot questions while drawing attention to the importance of Question One.

"We are proud to support Together KC's efforts to educate voters on these important issues," Toy said. "Affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization are essential to the long-term success of our city. This measure will help create opportunities for families, strengthen communities and support a more vibrant future for Kansas City."

KCRAR also thanked Mayor Quinton Lucas and the Kansas City Council for their leadership in advancing the measure.
