Zalud Announces Bilingual Telehealth Services Now Available in Texas
Zalud is a Spanish-first telehealth platform founded by Latino physicians Dr. Emill Sanchez and Dr. Joanna Kingsley Tavárez to make healthcare more accessible to Latino communities in Texas and Florida. It offers affordable, no-appointment online care for common non-emergency conditions, women's health concerns, and STIs, along with at-home testing kits.
Dallas, TX, September 18, 2026 --(PR.com)-- Founded by Latino physicians, Zalud offers online health care in Spanish or English with no appointment required.
Zalud is a Spanish-first telehealth platform, founded by Latino physicians and husband-and-wife team Dr. Emill Sanchez and Dr. Joanna Kingsley Tavárez. Together, they created Zalud to make healthcare more accessible to Latino communities. They offer non-emergency care provided in Spanish or English that considers patients’ language, culture and daily lives.
“Getting care should feel like being understood; from the language you speak to the questions you want to ask,” said Dr. Joanna Kingsley Tavárez, co-founder of Zalud. “We built Zalud to bring that experience to our communities. We’re excited to offer patients in Texas and Florida a simpler way to connect and receive healthcare.”
Zalud offers online evaluation and treatment for colds, flu, COVID-19, pink eye, sore throats, sinus and congestion concerns, ear infections, select sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and common women’s health concerns, including urinary tract infections (UTIs), bacterial vaginosis (BV), and yeast infections. The platform also offers at-home Essential Health and STI testing kits.
Zalud will soon introduce a pharmacy savings tool to help patients compare prices for generic medications at participating pharmacies near them. Patients will be able to search by medication name and ZIP code, then bring a savings card to their chosen participating pharmacy.
For Texans balancing work, family responsibilities, and busy schedules, the service offers an alternative to arranging an office visit for conditions appropriate for online care. Patients share their symptoms and health history through a secure online form, without needing to schedule an appointment or joining a video call.
A licensed clinician reviews the information and determines whether treatment is appropriate. Consultations cost $39, with no insurance required. When prescribed, medication is sent to the patient’s preferred pharmacy and purchased separately.
Care is available to eligible adults ages 18–64. Patients can explore available services and begin an online consultation at zalud.com/care.
