Garnadi's branded name for the Flying Pod is GPod. For Garnadi founder Omila Mannapperuma, the concept began with a simple question: Why should the supercar of the future follow the same basic architecture as the supercar of the past? “Supercars have evolved dramatically in performance, materials, aerodynamics and technology, but their fundamental architecture has remained remarkably consistent,” said Mannapperuma. “We wanted to challenge the assumption that an automobile still has to be designed around a single level.

The Double-Decker Supercar creates a new interpretation of the automobile through two distinct passenger environments vertically integrated into one machine. The lower level is designed as a fully functional supercar capable of independently carrying a driver and passengers, while the upper level provides a separate detachable Flying Pod.
Rather than simply adding height to a conventional automobile, Garnadi is exploring vertical space as a new dimension of supercar design.
Based on Garnadi's prior-art research, the company has identified no earlier publicly disclosed design that clearly presents this specific configuration. Garnadi therefore positions the Double-Decker Supercar as the world's first of its defined architecture and as the beginning of a new category of automotive design.

Once you stop assuming that a supercar has to exist on a single level, you begin opening the door to entirely different possibilities.”
