Lynnda Rakos Finding Success with Art and MTV

Artists from the L.A. area, including Lynnda Rakos, were selected to include their artwork in the set decoration of MTV’s The Real World, Hollywood, which aired on the MTV channel from April to July of 2008.

Los Angeles, CA, September 21, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Real World Hollywood set theme was green and eco-friendly. It also included the signature hip, cool design elements and furnishings expected of a Real World location. Lynnda Rakos Robots fit the theme for the Jetson Room. Ms. Rakos, an artist and mother of a teenage daughter, has been influenced by antique robots since she began painting. In addition to robots, she enjoys creating other fun characters, she explains, “It’s a therapeutic outlet. I enjoy it very much.”

With the excitement from the reality series and other art exhibits, Lynnda has created an entire business to include her characters on everything ranging from stationery and skateboards. After losing her husband 5 years ago, Lynnda has strived to support and be there for her daughter, while making a living doing something she enjoys. At first, art was more therapeutic then anything, but it is now becoming a budding new career.

The original silver framed Rakos Robot Prints that were used on the MTV set are now up for auction on Ebay. “Everybody Ebay’s everything these days… I thought that it would be a fun way to let people find these robots.”, stated Lynnda.

Lynnda’s over-sized “Pink Dog” character was also used to decorate a weekly Pet Segment, which airs on a local morning news channel. Lynnda has worked with interior designers creating unique children’s room décor, and is currently working on illustrating a children’s book. The world of art is creating opportunity for this mom, artist and entrepreneur.
