Heisman Winner Mike Rozier to Participate in TCNJ Homecoming and North Allegheny High School Dedication
Austin, TX, October 18, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Heisman Winner Mike Rozier will join North Allegheny High School (Wexford, Pa.) and The College of New Jersey (Trenton) for a field dedication and homecoming festivities on Friday and Saturday, October 17 and 18 as they celebrate the installation of two new TigerTurf fields.

Nebraska’s second Heisman winner and a recent inductee into the College Football Hall of Fame, Rozier will make a special appearance during halftime of the school’s football game against Butler. The game starts at 7:30 p.m. and will be telecast on NATV.

Rozier became a Heisman Trophy Winner in 1983, when he rushed for a school-record 2,148 yards and 29 touchdowns. His 4,780 rushing yards lead the Nebraska and Big Eight Conference career charts and his 52 touchdowns trail only Heisman winner Eric Crouch.

A Maxwell Award Winner, Rozier also won the Walter Camp Award and was one of six Huskers named to Sports Illustrated's 85-player All-Century Team. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2007.

In addition to Rozier’s appearance and TigerTurf field dedication Friday evening, senior night will be celebrated at North Allegheny High. Representatives from Ohio-based Sports Construction Group, which installed the school’s new, advanced technology synthetic turf this summer, will be on hand for the dedication.

The College of New Jersey football team will host William Paterson University on Saturday for the school’s homecoming game on Lions’ Stadium’s new TigerTurf field. Set for a 2:00 p.m. kickoff, Rozier along with college president, Dr. R. Barbara Gitenstein and the team’s captains will participate in a pre-game coin toss.

The turf, known as Trophy Turf™, features specialty yarns engineered with TigerTurf’s new Springback and Capsulate profiles. The profiles were created to heighten performance, fiber recovery and system longevity, and to deliver a more realistic stadium quality look and feel, according to TigerTurf director Charles Fleishman.
