A seminar entitled “Navigating The Hazards Of Cyberspace” will be presented by the Sacramento County Bar Association Intellectual Property Section in Sacramento, California on January 13, 2009.

Designed to present the legal issues unique to the internet that businesses with websites must address and properly manage, the seminar will provide marketing managers and attorneys with information from a nationally-renowned panel of e-marketing and internet law experts. The seminar will be open to the public free of charge and will be held at the California Railroad Museum from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Information will be presented regarding the ownership of websites and their content, search engine optimization, on-line brand reputation management, liability for website postings by third-parties, domain name disputes, and sponsored advertising trademark issues, among other topics. Attendees are invited to challenge the panelists with specific questions.

The panel will include Ian Ballon, an intellectual property attorney and author of “E-Commerce and Internet Law: Treatise With Forms;" Professor Eric Goldman, Director of the High Tech Law Institute at Santa Clara University School of Law;, Professor Greg Meath of Pacific McGeorge School of Law; Scott Pink, an intellectual property and trial attorney; and Kayden Kelly, CEO and Managing Director of Blast Advanced Media.
