Storyteller from the Heartland: Long Time Writer/Poet Publishes First Book

Ohio author Phillip Early Maynard has long delighted his local fans, friends and family with his unique storytelling and writing style that is both traditional and original. Now he plans to share a little of his work with the world by publishing it on Lulu.com.

Columbus, OH, January 15, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Mr. Maynard’s collection of Poem’s, Prose and Short Stories were written over several years and contain both fictional and non-fictional subject matter and characters. The 34 page “Corn Dogs and Tater Tots” is thought to be the first in many yet to come from Maynard.

Although this is Maynards first attempt at publishing his work, he seems to have developed quite a local fan base and many seem to be ready to support his work. “My friends, family and followers that I have met along the way, have always been supportive of my writing, and I think they’re as anxious as I am to see what happens next” Maynard said. “I have been writing as long as I have been able to read but, like a lot of people, I’ve always been a little reluctant to share my work. Because for me, it’s very personal” he then stated.

By dividing his book into five different parts, Maynard has been able to include poetry about his family and friends as well as stories from his childhood home in West Virginia.

Maynard, who does not consider himself a full time writer, basically compiled this book in his spare time. “Working full time at my “day job” doesn’t make it easy, but with the tools available to authors who aren’t afraid of self publishing these days, it wasn’t impossible.

The Book is titled “Corn Dogs and Tater Tots” can be found by going to http://lulu.com/corndogsandtatertots and may be previewed, purchased and reviewed
