Playgroups offer support, advice, and friendship for new moms
Charlotte, NC, February 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Mike Bost, vice president of Palmetto Childproofing Inc, is pleased to announce that his company has become a corporate sponsor for the New Moms of South Charlotte Playgroup.
The playgroup, founded in October 2008, has quickly grown into one of the largest of its kind in the Charlotte area. Currently, the group boasts over 190 active members, with new members joining almost every day.
“This playgroup hosts a number of diverse activities throughout the week and offers support, advice, and friendship to new moms of babies and toddlers in the Charlotte area,” says Bost.
Because of sponsors like Palmetto Childproofing Inc, membership to the group is free. “I am proud to be a sponsor for this playgroup,” Bost says, “because it offers an opportunity for new moms to get out of the house, make new friends, and share their stories with other moms going through the same experience.”
Some of the playgroup’s activities involve story time at the bookstore, picnics, stroller walks, play time at the park, and visiting recreation centers or museums. On occasion, the group even schedules moms only events for wine tastings, dinners out, and movie nights.
Bost believes it is important for new moms to be a part of a community where not only their kids can play together, but which also serves as a support network for the exchange of tips and ideas concerning the challenges of motherhood. “Being a new mom is hard work,” says Bost, “but being a member of a playgroup like this one makes the job a little easier.”
