Turkish Learning Breaks from Exclusive Escapes

Those who thought a holiday in Turkey meant lying on the beach should think again thanks to a number of new learning holidays from Exclusive Escapes. Whether its Turkish cookery, creative writing, yoga or olive tasting, try something new for 2009 and learn a little more about genuine Turkish life into the bargain.

Richmond, United Kingdom, March 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- All prices quoted below include return flights to Dalaman (from Heathrow, Gatwick or Manchester) with transfers - and there is no single supplement:

Join the olive harvest
New for 2009 is the opportunity to see the olive harvest in action at the Dionysos, a virtually self-sufficient hotel which produces its own label extra virgin olive oil. Over 1500 olive trees are harvested in early October and guests will have the opportunity to visit the farm, join the picking and watch the olive pressing. There are tastings of olive oils from around the world and a cookery demonstration to learn the many ways it can be used. Departing 3 October seven nights’ B&B at the Dionysos costs from £500pp, including return flights.

Book camp
New for 2009 is a one week book camp designed to help budding writers get started on the novel or poem they’ve always dreamt of writing. Designed to help enthusiasts learn how to break through writing blocks, the course will impart techniques needed to help fulfill a writer’s creative goals. A series of morning classes with Sara Bailey (a writing coach, writer and poet) are complimented with one-to-ones with Marc Blake (a novelist and sitcom writer). Afternoons are free to curl-up in a hammock in the Dionysos grounds, read, write or simply relax and explore further afield. The course runs from 2 May and costs £1,000 per person, including seven nights’ half board and return flights.

Making meze
Home-taught chef Semra will impart her love of slow food during a week-long discovery of Turkish vegetarian cuisine. Guests spend around 2 hours each morning and evening preparing traditional, hand-made dishes alongside Semra following her ancient Turkish recipes. The highlight of each day is a six-course evening banquet - consisting of vegetarian mezes, olives, local cheeses and home baked bread cooked – plus visits to local producers and Fethiye food market. Courses run from 4 July, 25 July and 15 August and cost £1,100pp, including seven nights’ full board at Yediburunlar Lighthouse and return flights.

Drop a dress size
Method Putkisto breaks offer a blend of yoga and Pilates, with deep-breathing and stretching to realign muscles, reshape the body and relax and calm the mind. The courses are led by Method Putkisto founder, Marja Putkisto, taking place on one of the large Dionysos terraces overlooking the sea. Sessions take place for a couple of hours each morning and evening, and guests can complete the detox feeling with a treatment at the Decléor spa and or by unwinding in the open air hot tubs. Courses run from 9 May and 10 October and cost £1,300pp including seven nights’ half board and return flights.
