The Return of the LVSK8- Summer Group Shows Begin with a Little Kitsch

Henri & Odette is pleased to announce its first summer exhibition, and group show featuring a massive collection of Las Vegas’ fine and commercial artists together in one room with their respective 31 inches or in other words, a blank skateboard deck.

Las Vegas, NV, May 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- For this exhibition, which will run through July 14th, 2009, with an opening reception Friday June 19 at 7pm, they will have the unique pleasure of housing over 100 artists in our 600 square foot gallery. Their artists range from tattoo artists to distinguished professors, fine artists to graffiti artists.

It has been two years since LVSK8 has been shown, and the show will come to life once again at the gallery.

The LVSK8 show was the brainchild of Michael Todoran, first shown at Grant Hall Gallery at University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2003. Since then the second installment of the show was in 2007, and now at Henri & Odette for the 2009 summer show.

The aim is to bring together all different types of artists under one roof, using a skateboard deck to represent their space in the gallery. “The idea that one has a set number of inches, and space in the world to do whatever they want is exciting” says Jennifer Harrington.

Each artist has a blank skateboard in which they have had the unabridged latitude to do with it what their specific media is. The opening reception will be an exercise in the mingling of the minds between fine and commercial artists.
