New Ownership Repositions CAPS as Total Solutions Provider, Adds Managed Services, Data Storage, and Partner Program. IT & Operations Veteran Peter Messina Heads New Team
Shelton, CT, June 02, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Computer Alternative Processing Sites, Inc. (CAPS), a leading provider of first class IT infrastructure solutions, announces ownership-management changes and expansion in its services, partner program, marketing, client support, and business development. All are part of CAPS’ expansion program, effective January 2009.

CAPS’ large enterprise and SMB clients now have immediate access to a full range of managed, disk-to-disk data backup and storage, and mobile disaster recovery support services plus colocation. The new services – combined with its previous data centers, workstation facilities, business continuity, and disaster recovery products – elevate CAPS’ SAS 70 Type II facilities to a first class level and furnish solutions for clients that need “brick and mortar” facilities and/or “mobile capability.”

The company’s new partner program expands client support in the critical areas impacting daily enterprise operations. CAPS most recently completed agreements with Integralis, Inc., which globally provides a full portfolio of managed security, IT infrastructure, consulting, and technology integration services; and Venyu (formerly AmeriVault), which is a premier provider of tailored data protection, recovery, and availability services to support recovery and service objectives.

CAPS’ new marketing direction addresses branding, product marketing, product and business development, sales, and joint efforts with partners, clients, and vendors to generate visibility, brand awareness, and new business. The programs target the markets served by CAPS’ two Shelton, CT data center facilities, which primarily service the northeast Boston through New York business corridor, and the newly acquired Duluth, GA data center facility that services the southeast region via Atlanta.

Marketing includes two branded events that target sales networking and topical industry issues. Integralis and Venyu handled the speaking chores at the industry issues seminar series launch held at the Shelton, CT headquarters in early May.

CAPS’ proactive expansion is the result of recently enacted ownership and management changes. The privately-held corporation entrusted its day-to-day operations, sales, and marketing responsibilities to Peter J. Messina, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Messina is an industry veteran with a deep IT background, spanning real-time and DR/BC operations to sales for data center/colocation facilities offering professional managed services.

He is an expert in the operation and delivery of information technologies, especially in the financial services sector. CAPS gains his extensive hands-on expertise from duties dealing with matters that include large-scale systems integration on numerous domestic and international technology and telecom projects.

Messina joins CAPS via FiberMedia, where he was EVP, Sales. Previously, he led KDDI/Telehouse America’s global enterprise sales efforts and brought aboard major banking, financial services, and government clients. He has worked within C-level and senior management at a variety of high profile corporations, including NYSE specialist firm LaBranche Financial Services, SunAmerica Financial Services, cosmetic giant Avon Products, and leading technology firms Computer Associates and EDS.

CAPS began in 1995 by addressing clients’ disaster recovery and business continuity needs at its Shelton, CT data centers and workstation facilities. The introduction of colocation, managed services, and data backup and archiving services creates a robust product mix for small to large cap enterprises. Forrester’s 2008 WaveTM report cited CAPS as a “strong performer” in the Fixed-Site Disaster Recovery Service Provider category. According to the report “CAPS can offer high-performance solutions in its region, and boasts very high customer satisfaction levels.” CAPS facilities provide clients strategic real-time, business continuity or disaster recovery operations solutions in the northeast and southeast with reliable infrastructure found in the “Best of Breed” data centers.
