Signalman Publishes "Institutes of the Christian Religion" for the Amazon Kindle e-Reader

Leader of the Protestant Reformation has his work published for the Amazon Kindle e-reader. Signalman Publishing has announced that John Calvin's "Institutes of the Christian Religion" is now available in the Kindle format. John Calvin was a noted theologian whose ideas and efforts greatly spurred on the Protestant Reformation.

Orlando, FL, July 18, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Signalman Publishing, a provider of e-books for the Amazon Kindle reader, announced the publication of John Calvin's "Institutes of the Christian Religion" in the Kindle book format, in honor of the 500th anniversary of Calvin's birth.

Calvin, a key figure in the Protestant Reformation, has gained renewed interest among Christians this year on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of his birth. As a young Frenchman, he broke away from the Catholic Church and fled to Switzerland where he began work on the "Institutes". The particular theology that he espoused of human total depravity and predestination was the intellectual foundation for the Presbyterian and Reformed churches and has had a wide influence throughout the Protestant movement.

"The Kindle software was recently upgraded to enable the display of Greek text which allows us to bring Calvin's 'Institutes' to the Kindle with even greater fidelity," stated John McClure, president of Signalman Publishing. "It has been a privilege to produce this legendary work for Kindle readers interested in studying the theology of John Calvin," McClure continued.

The Kindle from Amazon is a new e-book reader that has been gaining popularity with an estimated 350,000 units sold to-date.
