Wedding on a Budget: Plan Your Wedding on Less Than $6K

Given the current economic climate, as well as the soaring cost of weddings these days, there is a lot of talk about “budget friendly weddings.” This seminar will empower couples to understand what it takes to plan a wedding for less than $6K in Maryland.

Silver Spring, MD, August 05, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Maryland Budget Wise Weddings, My Kitchen Catering and Smooth Weddings will offer a seminar on how to plan your wedding with less than $6K on Friday, September 11, 2009 from 12-1:30pm at the Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce Building. This workshop will help couples zero in on specific locations, themes, and adjustments that will allow for a wedding on this type of strict budget.

Given the current economic climate, as well as the soaring cost of weddings these days, there is a lot of talk about “budget friendly weddings.” There are a number of small tips and tricks about how to cut back on wedding costs here and there, but generally couples are left wondering “how can we take these vague pieces of information and realistically make our wedding affordable?”

During this workshop, panelists will demonstrate exactly how achieve your goals with a specific budget break-down, including take-home materials that will guide couples in their planning. Couples will also learn how to make less extravagant reception and ceremony venues look more like a true wedding setting.

The panel will include the owner and design consultant of Maryland Budget Wise Weddings, the owner of Smooth Weddings, and the owner/executive chef of My Kitchen Catering. All of these companies strive to provide budget conscious clients with reasonably priced options for their event.

Kerry McCullough, owner, Maryland Budget Wise Weddings, explains that “people often go into their wedding planning with the intention of sticking to a certain budget, but quickly find that it’s too difficult to do. They may end up in debt on their credit card or dipping into their hard-earned savings when they really don’t have to.”

The average cost of a wedding in 2009 was over $30K, according to the Bridal Association of America. That money could be used to cover part of the down payment on a house. There are numerous real, tangible ways to avoid spending such an excessive amount.

The seminar requires pre-registration by calling ahead. Spaces are limited. The $20 cash fee includes lunch from My Kitchen Catering.
