WSOP Academy Presents the First Ever November Nine Academy as Part of Poker's Most Prestigious Final Table Weekend

Learn poker from the best in the game, including former world champions, Phil Hellmuth and Greg Raymer, while experiencing the World Series of Poker Main Event as a VIP.

Las Vegas, NV, October 09, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The poker world has been anxiously anticipating the WSOP Main Event Final Table. The November Nine, the final nine players of the World Series of Poker Main Event, will resume playing for over $27 million and the World Championship Title on November 7, 2009. To celebrate, the WSOP Academy is presenting its first annual November Nine Academy taking place November 6-8th, 2009, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The three day comprehensive poker academy will feature world-class instruction by past Main Event Champions Phil Hellmuth and Greg Raymer, two-time bracelet winner Mark Seif and accomplished poker pros Bernard Lee, Mark Kroon and Shawn Rice.

At the November Nine Academy, participants will focus on situational play, the intricacies of playing poker at the highest levels, while experiencing the World Series of Poker Main Event. The three day poker academy contains brand new material developed under the direction of World Series of Poker Champions. It teaches participants how to make the final table, and once there, how to dominate their opponents. Participants learn directly from the poker pros through a combination of focused seminar modules, video footage analysis, live hand demonstrations and a deep stack multi-table texas hold'em tournament.

“I'm so excited to get back in the classroom to share my experience and knowledge with the attendees,” said eleven time bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth, who is gearing up to teach at the November Nine Academy and serve as Master of Ceremonies at the banquet dinner and awards ceremony that will cap off the weekend. Hellmuth will analyze footage from his past final table appearances along with bracelet winners Greg Raymer and Mark Seif. Video footage analysis provides participants with the opportunity to hear the pros dissect their own hands, as well as other poker hands and situations from previous World Series of Poker final tables. The seminars are intensive and interactive, allowing plenty of opportunity for participants to engage the poker pros in questions and dialogue.

The November Nine Academy will feature more live demonstration time than ever before. It is during the live hand demonstrations that the instructors act as the dealer and offer participants expert insight and feedback for each and every hand they play. "Live hand demonstrations are overwhelmingly popular at our WSOP Academy Events. Our attendees tell us time and time again that they benefit tremendously from the time spent at the poker tables and playing out hands as they would in a real poker tournament. Learning by doing is the approach. This is why the November Nine Academy has more than six hours of live hand demonstration time. " said Brandon Rosen of the WSOP Academy.

Participants will be able to put their poker skills to the test in a deep stack multi-table no limit hold’em tournament that will be held during the November Nine Academy. The winner of the tournament will receive top honors and bragging rights, plus a WSOP Academy 2010 Tournament of Champions prize package valued at $4,000 plus prizes valued at over $1,500 each for second and third finishers.

All participants of November Nine Academy will receive exclusive VIP access at the WSOP Main Event Final Table. This special event will also feature presentations and questions by World Series of Poker executives including, WSOP Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack, WSOP Media Director Nolan Dalla as well as members of the ESPN Production Team. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience the Main Event Final Table as an insider, behind the scenes. The November Nine Academy will conclude with a banquet dinner and awards ceremony with Phil Hellmuth acting as the Master of Ceremonies.

The November Nine Academy is one of a number of groundbreaking instructional programs presented by the WSOP Academy throughout the year that feature instruction from the best players in the game, including Greg Raymer, Mark Seif and Annie Duke. From sessions that focus on No-Limit Texas Hold 'em Tournaments to special editions like the Ladies Only Academy, Mindset Academy and Main Event Primer.

The cost of the November Final Table Academy is $2,999. The WSOP Academy is offering a special early bird discounted price of $1,999 if participants enroll by October 12, 2009.
