San Diego Surf Beats Pendleton as Regular Season Nears

San Diego, CA, November 22, 2009 --(PR.com)-- San Diego's ABA (American Basketball Association) team, the “Surf”, faced a tough opponent in a pre-season scrimmage game against US Marines Varsity team at the Pendleton Page Field Camp Wednesday night. Surf won 116-93 with Jamal Kendrick as the player of the game.

Jamal Kendrick (Midwest State Univ., TX) had a double-double with 31 points, 4 of which were 3 pointers, and 12 rebounds. Chris “Mr. Mid-Range” Agnes (Morehouse College, GA), contributed 25 point and 5 rebounds. Mike “Money” McNair (N. Arizona Univ.) had 20 points with 9 rebounds and four 3-pointers, keeping up the rhythm from the first pre-season win against Riverside.

Top players on the Marines Varsity team were Mike Ward, Derek Gray, and Stephan Johnson who made 22 points, 17 points and 11 points, respectively. Derek Gray and Ray Adeyamo had 12 rebounds each.

Although this scrimmage game was not played by the official ABA pro basketball league rules, the Surf's season begins with the first Home game on Sunday, Dec 6 with all the action, exciting half-time, timeout entertainment, and more.
