Opening and closing the show, will be Central NY's Exclusive Beatles/British Invasion tribute band - The Fab Five – fresh off a triumphant headlining appearance as backing band for Joey Molland of Badfinger at International Beatle Week in Liverpool, UK, during the last week of August.

Pete Best was the drummer for The Beatles during the rough & tumble days in Hamburg, Germany at The Star Club, Kaiserkeller, and Top Ten Club. Back home in Liverpool, he kept the beat for the then-five piece Beatles group in the legendary Cavern Club, The Jacaranda, and his mother's own 'Casbah Club'. Just two weeks ago, Pete was again in the news worldwide, as the AP reported that the UK government had spared The Casbah, a coffee club in the basement of the house he grew up in, from the wrecking ball.

He played drums on the 1962 recording of "My Bonnie" with John Lennon, (Sir) Paul McCartney and George Harrison that truly planted the seed for the future Beatlemania craze. At that time, a local businessman named Brian Epstein owned a small record shop. When legions of music fans started to come in by the droves to request..."My Bonnie by The Beatles?” he decided to investigate the popularity of the band, by visiting them during a lunchtime performance at The Cavern.

The rest, as they say...is history. Yet this is the first time in history that an actual member of The Beatles will have visited The Village of Liverpool, located in New York State, adjacent to the northern border of The City of Syracuse. Liverpool, NY was named after the port city in the north of England, and established in 1830.

The documentary "Best of The Beatles" was recently broadcast nationwide on PBS-TV, and has been released for sale on DVD, giving Pete Best more deserved recognition as the drummer who 'put the beat in Beatles' in their rise to fame. It also gives Pete a chance to tell his side of the story as to why he was abruptly replaced by Ringo Starr on August 22, 1962.

His upcoming performance, which tops out at almost 90 minutes, is a living history lesson on what The Beatles sounded like when they were forced to ‘mach shau’ (German for ‘make a show’) eight hours a night, six days a week in 1960-62. After his performance is over, Pete will gladly sign autographs and shake hands until every fan leaves satisfied.

Pete Best and his US Tour manager, Teri Rousseau caught The Fab Five/Badfinger performance at The Cavern Club in Liverpool, UK on August 29th. After hearing the authentic sounds and seeing the high energy put forth, Pete (a personal friend of Molland) tapped Rousseau on the shoulder and said, "We’ve got to have these guys open for us in the States next month!” It’s truly an honor, and inexplicable dream come true for The Fab Five, to be personally selected by an actual Beatle to perform on the same stage!

Although his tour schedule is very busy, Best is making himself available for a short tour of The Village of Liverpool before the performance. Planned stops include eating a hot dog at Heid’s, the long-time eatery synonymous with Liverpool, NY, a visit to The Liverpool Historical Museum, and finally the private reception at The Fire Department. Village of Liverpool Mayor Marlene Ward will be on hand to officially greet Best on his arrival to Liverpool, in New York State.

One special note – an authentic gas lamppost from Liverpool, England was presented to Liverpool, NY and installed in front of the Village Museum (on the corner of Route 370 & Sycamore Streets), on May 21, 1962. On this date, Pete Best was still a member of The Beatles. Photo opportunities will be available for Pete with the lamppost, mid-afternoon on October 21st. The Village tour itinerary will be sent via separate press release, mid-week of October 15th.

Advance phone interviews with Pete Best are also available by request, by contacting Paul Davie by October 16th. Other cities on the two week tour include Toronto, Kansas City, Lexington KY, Pittsburgh, and a 2 day appearance at The Meadowlands in New Jersey, as part of a 60’s/70’s pop culture festival.
