Microcredit Summit in Nairobi

Meet The Neighbors will be streaming live from the 2010 Microcredit Summit.

Palos Verdes Estates, CA, January 24, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Meet The Neighbors will be traveling to Nairobi, Kenya and the 2010 Microcredit Summit to cover this historical event. The event is being held April 3-11, 2010. The Summit will open up with Muhammad Yunus, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and Founder of Microcredit to an expected 2,000 delegates from over 40 countries.

Meet The Neighbors is an engaging television series starting out as an online community where people can introduce an at-risk community to the online world and receive solutions from a global team. Members of the online community will be allowed to share solutions that have been effective in their own areas to provide global solutions.

Meet The Neighbors will be streaming live from the 2010 Microcredit Summit. This historical event will consist of interviews and other activities throughout the week long event.

Featured at this Summit is Kaputei Town, a town built by and for the members of Jamii Bora. The group began as 50 beggar women and grew to 200,000 strong. They were considered the worst of Nairobi’s poorest poor turned entrepreneurs thanks to the powerful tool of microcredit and the undauntable stand of Ingrid Munro. Munro’s organization has organized a cumulative 36.2 million dollars in loans for Kenya’s urban poor, stimulating small businesses and raising living standards in the city.

More information regarding these events will be made available as it becomes available.

Companies across the country are stepping up to assist the Meet The Neighbors mission. Special thanks to their newest corporate sponsor, Pyxism.com/neighbors.
