Brazilian Company Launches Online English Courses to Prepare Brazilians for World Cup

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, January 28, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Today, ezLearn Educacional launched a series of online English courses targeted at tourism professionals looking to prepare for the upcoming tourism events in Brazil; the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games.

"The tourism sector is still not well prepared to host foreign visits because of a lack of spoken English", says Ana Gabriela Pessoa, ezLearn's CEO. "We want to help Brazilians give foreign tourists a great reception."

The courses were especially developed for people with little or no previous English speaking abilities in several areas in the tourism sectors including waiters, salespeople, taxi drivers and tour guides. The courses are available for businesses as well as end consumers. Each course has a duration of between six months and one year, at which point the student receives a certificate.

"This kind of initiative is very important. These courses will help professionals in the tourism industry give a warm welcome to foreigners. They will be able to learn [English] without having to leave their own homes, which is very practical, especially for the busy lives we lead nowadays," says Caio Luiz de Carvalho, president of São Paulo Turismo (SPTuris), an events and tourist promotion company in the City of São Paulo.

ezLearn is a technology start-up based in Rio de Janeiro with a mission to democratize access to high quality education in Brazil. Its first product called meuInglês, launched in February 2009, is an online learning platform which helps Brazilian to learn English and already has over 30,000 members in its online community.
