Cinco de Mayo in the West End

Saturday, May 1, 2010 is Fiesta time in Dallas’ West End. The West End comes to life with ballet folklorico dancers, mariachi bands and piñata parties for a free admission street festival. Bud Light Main Stage featuring headliner CHICKENFOOT Live Virtual Tour, rocks all day with Dallas bands playing oldies & country to Latin and Christian Rock. Radio Disney hosts the family fun with games, prizes, and music for kids. The event benefits West End Charities (www.westendcharities.com).

Cinco de Mayo in the West End
Dallas, TX, April 22, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Market Street is the site for the 2nd Cinco de Mayo in the West End, Saturday, May 1, 2010 from 11:00 am – 11:00 pm. Produced by EnterAction Events, Cinco de Mayo in the West End is not just a celebration of Hispanic culture, but a celebration of Dallas’ unique blend of Tex-Mex heritage. Cinco de Mayo in the West End is a free admission event for all ages.

The Bud Light Main Stage features a new form of festival entertainment. West End is excited to be the only Dallas stop on the CHICKENFOOT Virtual Tour. That’s right it is a virtual concert. The CHICKENFOOT Virtual Tour features rock legends: Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani and Chad Smith on a 20’ high def screen. (This is a high def screening of CHICKENFOOT’s 2009 Phoenix concert.)

In addition to the CHICKENFOOT Virtual Tour, the Bud Light Main Stage’s lineup includes local bands: Romallice, Anthony & Sara Garcia Duo, Romo Band, Israel and Sweet Sound Band, Troubaderos, and Sometime After.

The Fiesta Stage offers festival goers a wide variety of Dallas dance groups performing dances from all regions of Mexico, Central and South America. The colorful costumes and vibrant dances are sure to wow the crowds. An evening street dance with salsa lessons and mariachi bands make it a true fiesta. The Fiesta Stage line-up includes: Anita M. Martinez Ballet Folklorico, Bryan Adams HS Mariachi Band, Bryan Adams HS Ballet Folklorico, Ballet Folklorico Huehuecoyotl, Ballet Folklorico de Dallas, Ollimpaxqui Ballet, Sandunga Dance Co. and Mariachi 90.

The family fun area will feature piñata parties, a bounce house, carnival games, balloon artists and face painters. Radio Disney AM 620 will be on-site with music, games and prizes for kids of all ages.
