North Boulder Park Classic Bike Races to Take Place on Saturday July 10th

The 37th running of the Criterium will Showcase National Level Professional Bike Racing Along with Top Amateurs.

Boulder, CO, July 05, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The North Boulder Park Classic Criterium will take place on Saturday July 10th around North Boulder Park in Boulder, Colorado. Bike racing around North Boulder Park goes back to the early 1970’s and became the crown jewel of the infamous Coors Classic International bike race. The racing begins at 8 am with the amateur women and continues throughout the day with junior racing at 12:50 pm. The premiere event will start at 2:45 pm with the Pro men’s race. There is over $7000 in prize money up for grabs in this year’s event which will benefit the Davis Phinney Foundation and Bicycles for Humanity.

“We are really excited to be working with the Davis Phinney Foundation, considering how this race influenced Davis when he was a kid,” said race director Keith Harper. “Davis was watching the North Boulder Park Criterium as a teenager and wanted to be a part of it. Hopefully the next Davis Phinney will be out there watching our race or perhaps he may actually be participating, you never know.”

The event will feature something for everyone, not just bike racers. There will be an EXPO ROW featuring vendor booths near the start/finish area that will feature food & drink, demos and freebies. As an added bonus, there will be a beer garden providing libations and heat relief for the adults, situated at the south end of Expo Row. For the kids, there will be kid's races and a PeeWee Rally with a picnic to follow.
