Glaucoma Lecture by Dr. Hazari

CME on glaucoma was held at Amravati on Sunday 11th July. It was organised by Amravati District Ophthalmic Society. Dr. Ajit Hazari, glaucoma consultant from Hazari Nursing Home, Aurangabad was an invited speaker.

Amravati, India, July 21, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Dr. Ajit Hazari from Hazari Nursing Home, Aurangabad was invited as speaker in CME program on Glaucoma. Dr. Hazari spoke on Principles of Medical therapy of glaucoma and Interpretation of visual filed analysis report. The CME was attended by all the local ophthalmologists at Amravati. The level of the talk was for ophthalmologists already taking care of Glaucoma patients. Dr. Hazari spoke on the fine points of conducting the automated visual analysis. He also highlighted the common mistakes made by practicioners during the tests which leads to mistakes in the diagnosis as well as management of glaucoma. In his secnd lecture which was on principles of glaucoma management, he spoke on the preferred practice pattern in glaucoma which is defined by American Academy of Ophthalmology. He also did an extensive review of literature on usefulness and side effects of prostaglandin analogues in the treatment of glaucoma. Dr. Hazari cautioned the audience that very often the facts presented to the medical fraternity may be taineted by incomplete information from pharmaceutical companies. Hence the doctors have to go through the published literature carefully before naking any decision about any of these drugs.

Dr. Ajit Hazari is an eminent glaucoma specialist from Aurangabad region and he was the chief faculty at the CME on glaucoma held at Amravati. The CME was organised by the Amravati District Ophthalmic Society.
