Third Consumer Survey Launched to Find Best Hotels & Resort in Asia

Anyone can nominate their favourite three hotels or resorts across the Asian region from today until 31 December 2006.

Hotels and resorts are voted on the following criteria and scored out of 10 (with 10 equalling the best): ambience, family friendliness, rooms, restaurant facilities, cleanliness, business facilities, location, leisure facilities, staff attitude and value for money.

Everyone from around the world will have the chance to vote in this unique program. The nominations will be used to select the best of the best in the third edition of  ‘Asia’s Best Hotels & Resorts,’ which will be published in mid 2007 in conjunction with leading travel publisher Insight Guides. The guide will be the third in the series and will continue the highly successful ‘Best Hotels & Resorts’ series.

In 2002, the first edition of the survey was conducted and 3,813 hotels received nominations from 42,000 votes. From those nominated hotels 300 were shortlisted (from 21 countries) to appear in the first edition of ‘Asia’s Best Hotels and Resorts’ Guidebook.  In the 2004 survey, over 3,700 hotels & resorts were nominated from 64,000 votes which saw the 2nd edition of Asia’s Best Hotels & Resorts Guidebook published with 400 hotels & resorts from 22 countries being featured.

Over 90 million* international arrivals have visited over 33 destinations within Asian region up to 14 June 2006. With its unique culture, attitude to service and the indulgence offered by spa resorts, it is clear why Asia is becoming a love affair with international traveller.
