Myra Goodman turns to Chicago’s leaders of organic and sustainably-grown food and wine to launch her full color cookbook, Food to Live By. Event includes a four-course menu featuring Goodman’s recipes with wine pairings.

Chicago, IL, December 19, 2006 --(PR.com)-- ChicaGourmets! extends an open invitation to members and guests to meet and mingle with Myra Goodman on Monday, January 8, 2007. Goodman is the co-owner of Earthbound Farm, founded in 1984 and now North America’s largest grower and shipper of organic produce. Her new cookbook celebrates a revolution of farming, eating, and health, twenty years in the making. The event includes a tour of one of the Midwest’s largest organic produce warehouses a four course luncheon at Bistro Campagne, complete with wine pairings, and a signing of Goodman’s full-color cookbook, Food to Live By. Tickets cost $39. Warehouse tours begin at Goodness Greeness at 10:30 and 11:15, followed by lunch at Bistro Campagne at 12:30. Space is limited and the event is expected to sell out.

Event hosts, ChicaGourmets!, Goodness Greeness, Bistro Campagne, and Candid Wines, join forces to transform a book signing into a full-fledged organic food and wine experience. Beginning with a tasting of seasonal organic fruits and juices at Goodness Greeness, guests will have the rare opportunity to tour one of the Midwest’s largest hubs for organic produce, a 25,000 square foot facility. Guests will then proceed to Bistro Campagne, where Chef-Owner Michael Altenberg, renowned for his strong support of organic and local agriculture, will be preparing a menu of recipes from Goodman’s book, featuring organic ingredients. Each of Chef Altenberg’s courses will be expertly paired with small production wines made from organic and sustainably-grown grapes from the portfolio of Candid Wines. Over the course of the tour and luncheon, Goodman will share her experiences as founder and co-owner of one of the world’s leading organic companies.
