Candid Wines is the result of Damien Casten's decision to take a "road less travelled by, and that has made all the difference".
After earning a degree in Government and four years in France working for multinational companies, Damien decided to pursue a different course. Traveling extensively in Europe to board meetings, sales meetings and just about every other type of meeting you can imagine, he had decided the food and wine he was eating afterwards was more interesting than the meetings themselves.
That realization led to the New England Culinary Institute and eventually to jobs in some of Paris' most reknowned kitchens, including the Michelin three star Lucas Carton. At the same time he worked for wine and knowledge at a remarkable wine shop, soaking up as much information, and tannin as he possibly could.
Today, through Candid Wines, Damien and his partners share their passion with wine lovers across Chicagoland. Candid Wines are hand selected from small family owned vineyards around the world and presented in a manner that allows wine lovers to learn and enjoy. They work with corporate clients looking to impress clients, to entertain board members or just unwind with a group of top performers. Candid Wines make wine lovers happy.
