Kids Get Up Close and Personal with Iguanas at Presidente InterContinetal Cozumel Resort & Spa

Chiqui Club kids will feed iguanas with grapes and lettuce leaves as they walk the beachfront resort in search of these indigenous creatures. Kids will learn about survival skills of iguanas, where they like to sun bathe and how they are cared for at the property. Kids also spend time at the resort’s three Iguana Temples, tunneled structures built by the resort to provide iguanas the ideal resting spot.

Besides getting up close with iguanas, Chiqui Club kids plant trees in the resort’s nursery. Every Chiqui Club participant is presented with a personalized name plaque to mark their plant. When ready, the trees are transplanted to other areas of the property to replenish the tropical surroundings.

There is no cost to participate in the Chiqui Club and the iguana care program is also open to curious parents who want to experience these wonderful creatures in their natural habitat.
