Circuit Cellar and Elektor Launch the “NXP mbed Design Challenge”

Circuit Cellar: The Magazine for Computer Applications and Elektor International Media are pleased to announce the launch of the NXP mbed Design Challenge 2010, the first contest launch since these two powerhouse pubs merged in December 2009.

Vernon, CT, September 23, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Starting September 21, 2010, engineers from around the world will be challenged to use the mbed NXP LPC1768 prototyping board and mbed online “Cloud” compiler to develop an innovative hardware- or software-based application. Anyone with an mbed NXP LPC1768 prototyping board can enter and thousands of complimentary mbed NXP LPC1768 kits are being distributed by NXP and ARM/mbed while supplies last. Design contest participants should submit their project entries—which include detailed project descriptions, schematics, project photos, and source code—and everything needed to reveal the true merit of their designs, by February 28, 2011. Circuit Cellar’s esteemed judging panel will evaluate the projects on a variety of factors including technical merit, originality, usefulness, cost-effectiveness, and design optimization to determine a the winners.

Cash prizes totaling $10,000 will be awarded to the design contest winners, and the complete entries of the winning projects will be posted online for the entire embedded design community to see. Plus, once the winners are chosen, Circuit Cellar and Elektor will approach some of the creators of the most notable projects to write full-length feature articles for publication worldwide.
