Fort Mill, SC, September 25, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Robin Marshall’s first book, “Is This Thing On?” is now one of Barnes and Noble’s best selling books. It showcases the real-time nightmares that happen with disk jockeys, while on the air, and the way they handled each situation.

The author has 25 years of experience as a radio jock on New York’s Airwaves. She and 150 other jocks have shared their stories; they are short- but filled with fun, The book includes real-time nightmares of famous radio personalities like Joel Denver, Dick Summer, Ted David and many more. The book also includes more than 60 noteworthy freehand illustrations by teenage graphic designer, Dylan Bauver – son of Robin Marshall.

Robin, the author of the book quotes George Carlin in saying, “I’m a writer who’s lucky enough to be able to perform her own material. She continues,” This book was originally self published, with a Lot of ‘hand holding’ from printer and designer, Michael Linnard, of ‘Little Red Tree Publishing!’ My goals for putting this book together were to first and foremost allow all of us that have been on the air, the ability to be able to laugh at ourselves and at each other with glee!” She further adds, “So many of us have thought over the years, this could only have happened to Us, and now after swapping stories, we know that’s not the case.”

This is Marshall’s first book; she is all set for her second book entitled ‘Twenty Five Years on the Air in NYC… and Nobody Knows my Name!’

“Is This Thing On?” is available at www.barnesandnoble.com, www.amazon.com and is available in color at www.robinmarshall.com/book.html . She and her son have decided to donate 40% of the proceeds to the ‘Make a Wish Foundation’ to help children with life-threatening medical conditions.
