Shoreview Chiropractor Helps Patients with Acute Pain and Works to Slowly Incorporate Wellness Into Their Lives

Dr. Douglas Yost, founder of Advanced Chiropractic and Wellness Clinic, now takes a more holistic approach to the back, and the result is more of his patients experience less pain than before, and if pain does return, it is less severe.

Shoreview, MN, October 27, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Some of us can remember the song, The Foot bone’s connected to the leg-bone… in a nutshell, that was the philosophy of Dr. Douglas Yost which caused him to start Advanced Chiropractic and Wellness Clinic.

When Dr. Yost opened ACW Clinic seven years ago, he realized the need to have a “comprehensive” chiropractic clinic all in one office, and therefore he knew the importance of having a rehabilitation room there also.

“We want to help people in a variety of ways,” Dr. Yost said. They perform spinal adjustments and misalignments, but they also show their patients how to stretch and strengthen muscles.

“Our main goal,” he said, “is to show people how they can continue their rehabilitation from home, which ultimately stabilizes their spines and help them in the long-run. We talk to each patient to determine what they can do to keep their back strong so the [pain] won’t come back, or at least it won’t be as intense.”

Advanced Chiropractic and Wellness Clinic focuses on the whole body. That’s why the doctor also offers use of a foot scanner and creates custom orthotics. Because if the feet aren’t supported properly, Dr. Yost said, it’s going to be hard to keep the spine in proper alignment.

At ACW, Dr. Yost and his clinicians strive to make going to the chiropractor more focused on the entire body as a whole. They are trying to become more body-centered and take care of clients’ entire bodies. Doing so reduces stress levels, which can cause and increase pain people have.
