ECT Announces SIP Interconnection Certification for INtellECT® NGIN

ECT’s INtellECT® NGIN platform has successfully passed the compatibility tests performed by Deutsche Telekom for interconnection with the German PSTN network.

Munich, Germany, November 19, 2010 --(PR.com)-- ECT, European Computer Telecoms AG, a leading provider of complete solutions for voice and multimedia value-added services, has announced that its INtellECT® platform has now been tested and certified for interconnection with the German PSTN.

The interconnection testing was performed by Deutsche Telekom using the IBM Softswitch Version 3.5 and SIP according to IMS ISC (RFC 3261).

The three-phase interoperability testing is a fundamental element in ensuring network operation security, maintenance of network integrity and the functionality for the interconnection of technical equipment for NGN interconnection between the carrier and the Deutsche Telekom network.

"This is a major step for ECT which gives us a distinct advantage over many of our competitors," states Walter Rott, CTO for platform-related development at ECT. "This means that our INtellECT® media server (MFR) can be connected directly to the PSTN without utilizing a Softswitch. The saves our customers money and also gives them a competitive advantage," he adds.
