Alliance HPT Spearheads a Community-Based Weight Loss and Fitness Challenge
Westwood, NJ, November 17, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Recognizing the need for a community initiative to spread awareness about health issues, Alliance Hand and Physical Therapy has launched the "Healthy, Wealthy and Wise Challenge."

Inspired by the popular reality TV show "The Biggest Loser," the Healthy, Wealthy and Wise Challenge is a 12-week program that started as an internal contest among employees of Alliance Hand and Physical Therapy clinics. Due to its success and insistent demand from patients, this year’s challenge will be open to anyone looking to get fit, stay healthy or lose weight.

Registration is ongoing until December 15, 2010 in Alliance HPT clinics all over Northern New Jersey. The challenge will kickoff on January 15, 2011 and conclude on April 9, 2011. Requirements for participation include medical clearance from a physician, a signed waiver and entry fee of $30.

Every week throughout the challenge, participants will have the chance to win among three categories which include total pounds lost, total percentage of body weight lost and personal goal attainment. Each clinic will act as the venue for weigh ins and other related activities. At the end of the 12-week challenge, those who accomplish the most will receive the grand prize.

Also, challengers will receive weekly newsletters, healthy recipe exchanges and informative and motivational seminars to help them stay competitive during the contest.
