Row2Recovery, the Injured Soldiers’ Atlantic Rowing Challenge in Support of Leading Forces Charities, Appoints Jobe London as Agency of Record

Row2Recovery, the fundraising campaign in support of the three leading UK armed forces charities, has appointed sports and B2B communications agency, Jobe London as marketing and media agency of record.

London, United Kingdom, December 15, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Jobe London has been tasked with planning and managing the integrated marketing and publicity needs of the campaign, both online and offline.

Comprised of serving and ex-forces commanders and a consortium of high profile backers, the Row2Recovery campaign aims to deliver a multi-million pound fundraising campaign of unique events built on participation from servicemen and women injured in action, including a 3,000 mile trans-atlantic injured soldier’s rowing challenge.

Commented John Bevan, Creative Director, Jobe London: “We are thrilled, exhilarated to be partnering with the Row2Recovery campaign to amplify the impact it offers. I believe in the power of sport and adventure to achieve this ambitious, compelling fundraising effort, and we hope it will help shift perceptions of disability and deliver the much needed resources to help rehabilitate those seriously wounded in the Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts. We have developed an adventurous communications plan over the coming years to engage media, key influencers and commercial partners.”

Pre-campaign work commenced with the launch of the Row2Recovery online presence this December, across social and web. The new site, at row2recovery.com includes full background, news, partners, and support information, fundraising schedule, events, images and video. Coverage from around the UK and beyond will be consolidated into the campaign’s dedicated Media Centre.

Ed Janvrin, Director of Fundraising and Co-Founder of the campaign said: “We are very excited to be taking the first stage of campaign live. We have brought on board fantastic patrons and supporters, and it has been critical throughout for us to have this strong base of expertise to help us accelerate our planning, and going forwards to have access to a strong team of people drilled in sports and corporate sponsorship. Our challenge is to significantly broaden our reach and raise awareness for our fundraising challenge and the new site is a powerful milestone towards that.”

“Supporters, media and commercial partners who are looking to become part of Row2Recovery’s story should be captivated early on by the campaign’s online and social experience: that was our briefing challenge,” says Rob Gamm, Director of Digital at Jobe London. “It would have to be highly visual but accessible and immediately high impact - we wanted to literally throw out the “square site” for something designed from scratch, which matched the daring of the campaign itself.”
