Even within a single theme, such as Science Fiction and Fantasy, there are numerous options and it is difficult to make an informed choice. Book review blogs are an excellent source of information for this purpose. A new blog, Sci-fi Bookworm, has been created very recently with a novel approach to this.

Even when selecting among the classics as a safe approach, not every book will fit every person's profile and taste (or those of someone for who the book is being bought). Reading reviews on those books can be a very useful approach. Another interesting aspect of book review blogs is simply to browse through the plotline of books previously read. Detailed reviews and spoilers will bring to mind how the story went and what was felt when reading it, and can be a nice way to spend a few hours down memory lane.

The very recently created Sci-fi Bookworm blog combines those 2 features. On the one hand, it provides reviews on science-fiction and fantasy books, including the major classics, and will help readers decide potential gifts or picking a new book to read. On the other hand, is provides a short spoiler section (hidden unless desired), beckoning memories of books read long ago, maybe even in teenager or young adult years.

The latter is the feature that makes this website interesting. Almost all book review blogs will only provide hints at the story, while others provide a complete start-through-end synopsis. Neither is entirely satisfying. The former is useful only to someone who never read it before, while the latter will ruin the plot for new readers.
