KLM Flies High with e-Spirit: Integrating FirstSpirit CMS in SAP NetWeaver for More Efficient Processes

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines plans to implement HR e-business portal on the intranet based on FirstSpirit CMS as a content integration solution that will integrate into the SAP NetWeaver Portal

Dortmund, Germany, January 31, 2011 --(PR.com)-- KLM Royal Dutch Airlines decided to implement FirstSpirit as a content integration solution. The content management system (CMS) of manufacturer e-Spirit will be used within the KLM intranet. The airline wants to establish a new human resources e-business portal, which will provide employees with easy and quick online access to HR information and services.

The high flexibility of the FirstSpirit CMS was a key factor when voting for the new software platform. Implementing FirstSpirit, KLM gets a system that fully satisfies its requirements on optimum usability, an easy approach to content management and efficient editing processes. FirstSpirit will seamlessly integrate into the SAP NetWeaver Portal, which is set as the technical basis at KLM. This gives editors from the HR department a system that is easy to use, even without dedicated SAP know-how, providing them with the opportunity to manage content via the user-specific editing surfaces of the CMS. FirstSpirit also supports the role and rights management functionality of the portal. Therefore access to all content and applications can be personalized without duplicating the editing work on user profiles or content. “Integrating the FirstSpirit content management system in our existing NetWeaver infrastructure will optimize and accelerate our editing processes considerably: Editors will not need SAP knowledge and can focus completely on content management via the intuitive FirstSpirit surface. Certain tasks in the process, including login verification, controlling data formats and ensuring link consistency will be carried out automatically in the background in FirstSpirit,” said Ruben Zweet, Information Manager with KLM.

The technical implementation of the project will be supported by e-Spirit partner TopForce and is scheduled to take six weeks only. KLM will then prepare the rollout to soon enjoy the benefits of optimized processes and increased efficiency.
