Debranetta Gethers Participates In Sixth Case Competition In Two Years
Raleigh, NC, February 19, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The NC State Jenkins MBA program (http://mgt.ncsu.edu/mba/) in the Poole College of Management has announced that Debranetta Gethers, MBA class of 2011, will participate in the 2011 Sony Marketing Strategy Case Competition on Friday, Feb. 18 and Saturday, Feb. 19 at the Sony Electronics, Inc. corporate headquarters, located at 16530 Via Esprillo in San Diego. The case competition will consist of mixed teams of five full-time MBA students from across the country, who will be working on a marketing strategy case and presenting to a panel of senior Sony executives. Gethers is a second-year full-time student in the Jenkins MBA program, concentrating in marketing management and financial management.
Quotes:
“We are proud of Debranetta for her accomplishments, and we are happy to support her as she heads to San Diego,” said Steve Allen, associate dean for graduate programs and research at NC State University’s Poole College of Management. “The Sony Marketing Strategy Case Competition will be a change for Debranetta, as she will be working with students new to her, but this will provide more of a real world experience for her as, in business, it is not uncommon to be placed on teams with people you would not typically work with.”
“Case competitions offer real world experience,” said Gethers. “By attending them, I have learned how to leverage my strengths, which include attention to detail, the ability to determine key issues from incomplete information, and the ability to articulate solutions to complex problems. I am thankful to the Jenkins MBA program for supporting me in these endeavors. They have provided great learning experiences and exposure for both me and the Jenkins MBA program.”
