Premier Health Care Services, Inc. Receives 4-Year OSMA Re-Accreditation

Premier Health Care Services, Inc. has been surveyed by the Ohio State Medical Association Focused Task Force on Accreditation and awarded re-accreditation for 4 years as a provider of continuing medical education for physicians.

Dayton, OH, February 26, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Premier Health Care Services, Inc. is proud to receive re-accreditation by the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA) to provide continuing medical education for physicians in the state of Ohio.

OSMA accreditation seeks to assure both physicians and the public that continuing medical education activities developed by Premier Health Care Services meet the high standards of accreditation as specified by the OSMA.

Premier provides over 134 hours of CME/CEU to their providers a year. Courses include PALS/ACLS re-certification, Risk Management lectures, Documentation, Patient Satisfaction programs, and an annual Emergency Procedures Course & Skills Lab. In addition, Premier strives to meet the educational needs of ED nurse and pre-hospital providers at their client hospital sites in order to establish a consistent approach to the delivery of high-quality emergency patient care.

“I would compare the OSMA survey process to that of a hospital’s Joint Commission survey process–very detailed oriented and thorough,” notes Wanda Blackford, Education Coordinator for Premier. “They [OSMA] reviewed all of Premier’s CME activity files for the past 3 years, since the last accreditation. In addition, OSMA evaluated the Premier Education Committee and faculty overseeing our program.”

This year’s re-accreditation process was the first for Dr. Jerry Tasset, who was appointed Premier's Director of Education on October 17, 2010. According to Dr. Tasset, “I stepped into the Director role late in the survey process, but had complete confidence in our CME Education Committee’s preparations for the re-accreditation process.”

OSMA’s on-site survey team reviewed documents and indicators of compliance with all of the OSMA’s Essential Area Elements and Polices. This survey data, combined with other data, led to a final overall accreditation recommendation of 4 years. Premier’s formal term of accreditation is in effect until March 13, 2014.
