Virginia Beach, VA, April 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Peyton Rack, Artist’s Bio:

Peyton has attended the Governor’s School for the Arts in the Visual Arts Department for the past four years. Her most influential classes are painting and mixed media, as for the majority of her work. Her art is inspired by movies made in the 50s and Pin-Up nose art. One of the artists who has inspired her work is Ralf Armstrong. Peyton will be attending the School of the Art institute of Chicago in the fall as a distinguished Merit Scholar, and has recently placed second in the Governor’s School for the Arts Juried Exhibition.

"It is exciting for me to recreate things that were familiar, and that is why my main subject became female figures. In other words, it is easy to document exactly how I am feeling when I’m familiar with the body expressing it. There was always something about the vintage look of it all that gave my paintings extra style, because I always wanted to immerse myself in it. Essentially, every single work is myself, expressed in ways I cannot show on my own."
-Peyton Michelle Rack, age 17

Her Art Showing at Just Cupcakes will open on Mother’s Day, in efforts to put the emphasis on women-themed work. All mother’s who attend will receive a flower, work is up for sale, and the reception is free and open to the public.
