Motorcycle riders freshen up on your defensive riding skills before that long adventure

Littleton, CO, May 12, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Official Motorcycle Angels has just acquired 501(c)3 status and is re-launching the organization with a new "status," "new vision" and "new name" just in time for summer, a dedicated Non-Profit that is there to help motorcycle riders of all shapes and sizes.

It was founded in 2005 to raise money for injured motorcycle riders, research into safe technologies and education for safe riding techniques. It is Motorcycle Angels vision to support motorcycle sports and activities both in technological advances that support safe product technology, education and funding for riders in serious crisis caused by motorcycles.

Motorcyclists can join in the effort to help with - Riders Helping Riders - Program. A portion of all proceeds of The Official Motorcycle Angels products go directly to riders in crisis and any motorcycle products that carry The Official Motorcycle Angels Seal. Look for the Seal of The Official Motorcycle Angels when deciding on purchasing a motorcycle product and you can make a huge difference in a riders life. 100% of all cash donations go directly to riders in serious crisis.

The original founder of The Official Motorcycle Angels can be traced to Melissa Zavadil of Littleton, Colorado. A highly active motorcycle enthusiast and mother of three (whom all ride dirtbikes.) Melissa was a professional sports photographer and saw the need for a “union” of some sorts in the professional motorcycling industry but, understood that that concept was most likely not going to form. Melissa designed several angels that could be sold in an effort to raise money for down riders in 2005, and could be viewed as a “motorcycle guardian angel” looking over the rider. She then decided to create and formalize the efforts and obtained the 501(c)3 status making The Motorcycle Angels "Official" Taking on the new name and logo "The Official Motorcycle Angels."

Assistance awards are based on the severity of injury [serious brain, paralysis and death], number of dependents and the applicant's financial situation. The Official Motorcycle Angels also takes into consideration the individual's involvement in and/or contribution to the sport of riding motorcycles.

"The Fund focuses on those individuals who ride and dedicate their life to it, building a motorcycling support group in an all out effort and joining all motorcycle style riders in their unique Passion," said Melissa Zavadil, President/Founder of The Official Motorcycle Angels.

With summer approaching America's motorcyclists are hungry to get back out on the roads, tracks and trails in full force! The Official Motorcycle Angels would like to remind all riders hungry to get back on the road this summer to realize our fellow “drivers” might have forgot over the long winter that they share the roads with motorcycles. Remember to ride defensively and be "aware" of what’s around you. Drivers of cars, trucks and other vehicles please remember to look out for your smaller sized road peers -- motorcycles.

With so many motorcycle activities and motorcycling events beginning, hundreds of bikes are going to hit the road, now is the most important time for The Official Motorcycle Angels to raise funds for injured riders. And what better way than with a New “Official” Name: The Official Motorcycle Angels 501(c)3.
