Oakland A’s Pitcher Eric Potter Signs with The McFadden Agency

Left-Hander Makes Moves in His Pro Baseball Career

Oakland, CA, July 24, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Eric Potter is showing the Oakland A’s and the baseball world everything he has. Eric was taken in the 19th round by the A’s in the 2011 MLB draft. Oakland scouts saw potential when they noticed his team leading 68 strikeouts in his senior year at the University of Maryland. With such tremendous potential, The McFadden Agency and Scott McFadden, Director of Baseball Operations, gladly welcomed Potter to their team.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to assist with Eric’s career,” says McFadden, “He’s the type of player that has shown only improvement in his college career, and we don’t see any sign of that stopping.”

By the end of the 2011 season, opponents batted just .208 off the 6-foot-4 210-pound left-hander, whose fastball has been clocked consistently at 92 MPH. Potter concluded his Maryland career ranked 11th in program history with 199 strikeouts. He recently added a cutter slider to his repertoire and has used it effectively as an out pitch.

After the draft, Eric began his professional career playing rookie ball with the Arizona League Athletics. In his first game he made his presence known with 6 strikeouts. Due to his instant success Potter was quickly promoted to Single-A with the Vermont Lake Monsters. He is currently on a 4 game save streak with an amazing 1.29 ERA, and he hopes to continue to advance until he reaches the Majors.
