The Animal Rescue Site Helps the Dogs of Bhutan

The Animal Rescue Site’s latest partnership with Humane Society International focuses on helping the street dogs of Bhutan.

Seattle, WA, August 26, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Animal Rescue Site’s latest partnership with Humane Society International focuses on helping the street dogs of Bhutan.

A “Spay/Neuter A Street Dog” Gifts That Give More (tm) has been added to The Animal Rescue Site. The Gifts That Give More (tm) program allows shoppers at The Animal Rescue Site make a small donation to help the Humane Society International implement the first-ever nationwide spay/neuter program in Bhutan.

The Humane Society International is currently working in Bhutan on a three-to-five year catch, neuter, vaccinate, and release program for the estimated 50,000 street dogs living there. The country is providing half the funding for sterilization, and is committed to the long-term effort. So far, HSI staff have treated more than 16,800 dogs.

Previously, The Animal Rescue Site and GreaterGood Network partnered with the Humane Society International to provide assistance to animal rescue groups in Japan. Following the 2011 tsunami and earthquake, The Animal Rescue Site visitors contributed more than $200,000 to these efforts, which will help animal rescue efforts in the region through 2012.
