Absolutely PR’s Maggie Chamberlin Holben, APR, Appointed to Colorado BioScience Association Board of Directors for a Three-year Term

Maggie Chamberlin Holben, owner of Absolutely Public Relations in Metro Denver has been appointed to a three-year term on the Board of Directors for the Colorado BioScience Association (CBSA). In addition, Holben is chairing the CBSA’s newly formed communications committee. The announcement is made by Holben who says she was recruited to the board earlier this year by her client Greg Baldwin, Chairman and CEO of Baxa Corporation, who also serves on the CBSA board.

Denver, CO, October 21, 2005 --(PR.com)-- Maggie Chamberlin Holben, owner of Absolutely Public Relations in Metro Denver has been appointed to a three-year term on the Board of Directors for the Colorado BioScience Association (CBSA). In addition, Holben is chairing the CBSA’s newly formed communications committee. The announcement is made by Holben who says she was recruited to the board earlier this year by her client Greg Baldwin, Chairman and CEO of Baxa Corporation, who also serves on the CBSA board.

“Our committee’s charge is to give direction to and provide ongoing evaluation of all the Association’s various communication initiatives,” explains Holben. “We’re first dovetailing with the strategic planning process that other committees have already undertaken by developing goals, strategies and issues in line with the Association’s core values, core competencies and strategic deliverables.”

The new Communications Committee will also be brainstorming the best ways to share the CBSA story at major trade shows, such as at the BIO International Convention, next scheduled for April 2006 in Chicago. Plus, committee members will be guiding the direction and content of CBSA’s marketing communications tools for member acquisition and retention, plus direct the ongoing public and media relations efforts for the Association.

CBSA publishes the annual Colorado Bioscience magazine in collaboration with the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade and the quarterly CBSA Focus newsletter.

The conference takes place at the Minneapolis Hilton, September 21-23. - August 15, 2005

BioWest 2005 Expands to Feature Venture Capital Award: The Rocky Mountain Region's premier networking event and trade show for the biotechnology and medical devices industries has expanded to include the first annual $10,000 Faegre & Benson Venture Showcase Award, to be presented to the winning emerging biosciences company at the Venture Capital program on November 8, 2005. The award, sponsored by the law firm Faegre & Benson, is designed to help support growing biotech companies. - August 15, 2005

Colorado BioScience Association Announces The Second Annual Issue of Bioscience Colorado Magazine: Colorado Bioscience Association (CBSA) has released the 2005 edition of its annual four-color magazine, Bioscience Colorado. Published in collaboration with the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, the magazine is distributed at international conferences, such as BIO and AdvaMed, to national site selectors and throughout the local community. The magazine includes articles on the Colorado bioscience industry, plus a directory of all Colorado life science companies. - July 21, 2005

CBSA’s Denise Brown Is Now Profiled at the Expert Information for Journalists Website: Denise Brown, Executive Director of Colorado BioScience Association (CBSA), is now profiled on the Expert Information For Journalists website – Expert411.com. Brown provides expert perspective on the Colorado Bioscience Industry, including backgrounding regarding Colorado's biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device and agricultural biotech initiatives. Colorado BioScience Association Endorses Referendums C & D In Its Summer 2005 Edition of The CBSA FOCUS: Colorado BioScience Association (CBSA) has published the second issue of its quarterly newsletter, “The CBSA FOCUS.” Featured articles in the Summer 2005 publication cover Referendums C & D; PR Pharmaceuticals based in Fort Collins; and William W. Cimino, Ph.D., President of Sound Surgical in Louisville. Colorado BioScience Association and Biotechnology Industry Organization Jointly Sponsor August 9th Bioscience Forum: The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) and Colorado BioScience Association (CBSA) are jointly sponsoring the Bioscience Forum on Tuesday, August 9, 2005, 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. , on the Fitzsimons Campus. This educational event focuses on the outlook of the Bioscience Industry in Colorado. Keynote Speakers include The Honorable Bob Beauprez (R-District 7-CO), The Honorable Andrew Romanoff, Speaker of Colorado House, and The Honorable James Greenwood, President & CEO, BIO. - July 19, 2005

Colorado BioScience Association Debuts Quarterly Newsletter: The CBSA FOCUS: Colorado BioScience Association (CBSA) has published the first issue of its quarterly newsletter, “The CBSA FOCUS.” Featured articles in the Spring 2005 issue cover the Colorado Technology Survey; McKinley Medical company’s new pain management product targeting the plastic surgery industry; and Dr. Michael Bristow, noted professor, physician and founder of both the Myogen and ARCA Discovery biotech companies. - May 31, 2005

Colorado BioScience Association Names Ed Wood Chairperson and Appoints Four New Board Members: Ed Wood, CEO of Summit Roundtable in Lakewood, CO, is the new Chairperson of the Board of Directors for the Colorado BioScience Association (CBSA). He was appointed at the Association’s 2005 Annual Meeting held in April. Wood assumes chairperson responsibilities from Ralph (Chris) Christoffersen, General Partner, Morgenthaler Ventures, Boulder, CO, office. Vice Chairperson of the board is Jack Wheeler, CEO of Microphage, Inc., Longmont, CO. - May 30, 2005
