Nashville, TN, February 08, 2012 --(PR.com)-- SOUL LOUNGE USA initiates a 2nd and much anticipated Soul Music Tour featuring Grammy-Nominated Lalah Hathaway starting Thursday, February 23rd in Columbus, Ohio. This short tour run will be followed by concerts in Cincinnati (2/24), Chattanooga (2/25) and Huntsville, Alabama (2/26).
SOUL LOUNGE USA (SoulLoungeUSA.com) launched its first series of concert tours with Lalah Hathaway in November 2011 in Nashville and routing the beloved artist through 5 cities throughout the Southeast of the Unites States. “We’ve still got a ton of demand to see Lalah perform live, especially because of the recent release of her latest CD ‘Where it all Begins.’ We plan to be very busy with Lalah Hathaway this year,” says Soul Lounge USA founder Bill Lee McCleskey.
Lalah Hathaway is referred to as the First Daughter of Soul, and is a contemporary R&B and jazz singer. She is the daughter of soul singer Donny Hathaway and a classically trained vocalist. In 1990, Lalah Hathaway released a self-titled album. The album's first single was "Heaven Knows," produced by Derek Bramble. The follow-up single was "Baby Don't Cry" produced by Angela Winbush.
In 2007, Hathaway signed to Stax Records and in 2008 released her fifth album Self Portrait. It was released on June 3, 2008 in the United States, debuted at #63 on the Billboard's Hot 200 and reached the top ten on the Top R&B albums chart, making this album, Hathaway's most successful album to date. She received a Best Female R&B Vocal Performance Grammy Award nomination for "That Was Then.”
On August 14, 2011, Lalah Hathaway took to her Twitter account to release a free download of "If You Want To," the debut single from her sixth studio album Where It All Begins releasing October 18, 2011.
SOUL LOUNGE USA first established a solid presence in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2008 by promoting and producing a hip, soul, live music event featuring spoken word artist, soul vocalists and bands every Sunday at BB Kings. The Event has attracted some of the Country’s most sought after Soul artists like Grammy Winners PJ Morton, Tommy Sims, Kindred The Family Soul, Foreign Exchange and more.
This Soul event was so unique and in such high demand that other cities and venues requested its "vibe." After establishing a SOUL LOUNGE franchise in Memphis in early 2009, the grassroots concept took off like wildfire.
Now with a presence in 21 markets including Washington DC and Brooklyn, founder Bill Lee McCleskey says the future is even brighter. “We have discussions weekly with different cities or venues interested in a Soul Lounge franchise...We’re excited about what the future holds for this company and for authentic Soul music.”
