Mr. Callighan has been the publisher and editor of the South’s Sport Spectrum ,a sports broadcaster, sports photographer, coach, and a college communications instructor. He graduated from Rock Falls High School in Rock Falls, Illinois, and is a member of the Rock Falls Athletic “Hall of Fame.” He graduated from Murray State University with two degrees in communication and has been an educator for the past forty-six years, with forty-two of those at the college level. The past thirty-nine years have been spent at Lawson State Community College in Birmingham, Alabama, as a communications instructor. Recently he was honored by the State of Alabama as one of their “Heroes of Education.” Bob lives with his wife Joy and they have two children, their son Robert and their daughter Amber.
