Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal Selects Active Risk Manager for Enterprise Risk Management

Fairfax, VA, February 18, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Active Risk (formerly Strategic Thought Group) announced today that the Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal (WICET) in Queensland, Australia has selected its award-winning software Active Risk Manager (ARM) to manage project and sub-contractor risks and opportunities.

The WICET project involves the construction of a new coal export facility at Golding Point, Queensland, Australia. Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal Pty Ltd has been developed by a consortium of coal exporters, of which eight are Stage One owners. Once fully commissioned, WICET will provide over 80 million tonnes per annum in additional export coal capacity at the Port of Gladstone. The first shipments through the new Terminal are planned for 2014. ARM will be used to integrate risk management across all WICET consortium members into a single enterprise-wide system.

Lynton Barker, Executive Chairman of Active Risk commented, “We are very pleased that ARM has been chosen by WICET to help them gain visibility of risks and opportunities right across this major project. Our customers tell us that bringing together risk data from all partners and sub-contractors into a single secure and auditable system is the right approach to improve the quality of information available for strategic decision making. We’d like to welcome WICET to the growing community of ARM users in Australia and across the world.”

ARM customers include Leighton Contractors, US Air Force, London Underground, Rio Tinto and EADS.
